EdInsightsGroup LLC was founded by Dr. Brian Davis in 2023 as a personal mission dedicated to support leaders in their personal and professional development.
 
At EdInsights Group, our goal is to help you develop the intra/interpersonal skills necessary to enhance your leadership impact. Identifying the navigational skills to chart your leadership journey along potentially dangerous coastlines, sinking rocks/reefs, or shallow water that can leave you beached, our goal is to bring you safely back to harbor and keep your charts on course. Our services focus on you through personalized executive coaching, developing your team through effective team building, and maximizing your impact through strategic planning.

Dr. Brian DavisDr. Brian Davis has served over thirty years in the PreK-12 sector as a classroom teacher, middle school counselor, elementary principal, assistant superintendent of teaching and learning, superintendent of schools, and most recently as the Associate Executive Director of Professional Learning for the Michigan Association of Superintendents and Administrators. These experiences have spanned rural, suburban, and urban communities in small to medium-sized districts. 
 
Recognized by his peers in 2011 as the MASA Michigan Superintendent of the Year for his impact at the local level in the Holland Public Schools District, he recently retired from the local level following a thirteen year tenure as superintendent. His most recent work includes consulting with MASA at the state level supporting aspiring leaders as they navigate the pathway to school administrator certification and state endorsement. He also supports current district leaders through executive coaching and state-wide building equity efforts. He also serves as an adjunct professor in the graduate degree program of educational leadership at Western Michigan University.
Core Accomplishments as a leader include:
  • State-recognized instructional programs
  • Leading the passage of two bond millage campaigns totaling nearly $150M, multiple sinking funds and operational renewals, and a countywide special education millage and enhancement millage
  • Strategic planning that included district reorganization plans of attendance boundaries, facility use, and instructional programming
  • Traditional and Interest-Based Bargaining efforts leading to multiple successful collective bargaining agreements
  • Nurturing and developing community partnerships supporting wrap-around and extracurricular activities including: school nursing, school-based mental health and wellness, early childhood, before/after school care, college advising, STEM, US FIRST robotics, Kids Hope USA, Kids Food Basket just to name a few
  • Championing Holland Public Schools district equity audit, changes in policy, curriculum, assessments, professional development, and discipline practices leading to a more equitable access to school programs and services
  • Serving on many community-based nonprofit organizations as a board of directors including: Holland Historical Trust, Ready for School, Tulip Time, Michigan West Coach Chamber of Commerce, Kids Hope USA, Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan, and Mosaic Counseling
  • Advocating for education policy supporting social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion at the state and national level
  • Effective team development and board governance
  • Leading professional development for social justice, diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Collaborating with non-profits in strategic planning, governance and community impact

When he is not working, he enjoys travel both locally and abroad. One of his new favorite things to do is boating on Lake Macatawa and Lake Michigan in West Michigan. If you are familiar with the channel of these two lakes, you will know that “Big Red” stands proudly on the south side of the Holland Channel. The Holland Harbor Lighthouse is an integral part of the history of Holland, one that is filled with calm and balance to one filled with storms and disappointment.
